EXPOSICION ARTE Y VIDA
El Networking Hispanos y Latin American Arte, organizaron la exposición "Arte y Vida" y la charla "El Coleccionismo y los Siete Protagonistas del Mercado del Arte Contemporáneo", en el Community Center de la ciudad de Boca Raton,Florida el día 25 de abril del 2012.
En ella participaron 14 artistas de diferentes paises incluidos Argentina, Colombia, Cuba, Brasil, Puerto Rico y Venezuela.
Los artistas participantes fueron: Alfredo Aldana, Manena, Gládys Vélez, Vianey, Naza, Jovani Alzate, Cristina Manole, Esmeralda Salgado, Luís Hernández, Dindy, Maritza Bernal, Clemencia Hernández, Gladys Beltran y Francisco Cerón.
El evento tuvo una gran asistencia y demostró que el Arte y la Cultura tienen una gran acogida entre los profesionales y personas de negocios en el condado de Palm Beach.

Pre-Columbian Art
Latin American Art has its origins in Pre-Columbian Art. The Term "Pre-Columbian" derives from "Pre-Columbus" or before Christopher Columbus, and it designates a time period of cultures very advanced in art, architectural understanding, sculpture, painting, ceramics, rupestrian art, textiles and metalwork. The term relates to cultures located within the American continents, but particularly focuses on those cultures that ruled the territory of Spanish colonies in America, from Mexico down to the Southern Cone, Argentina and chile, with the exception of brasil, for which the term pre-colonial is used instead.
The Pre-Columbian period spans from 10,000 B.C. to the discovery of America in 1492. In Mesoamerica, which encompasses the current territory of Mexico and Central America, early civilizations included those founding one of the most notable cities in the continent, Teotihuacan, the Olmec, the Mayas, the Mixtecs, the toltecs and finally, the Aztecs.
In the Andean region, which includes territories of all countries which are crossed by the Andes range - from Venezuela and Colombia in the north, down to the northen parts of Chile and Argentina in the south - the Chibchas stand out, being the point of contact between Mesoamerica and the Andes. Other outstanding cultures are found in San Agustin, Calima Tairona, Chavin, Manteño, Tiwanaku, Nazca and Inca.
Colonial Art
Latin American colonial art developed in America during the Spanish rule, which lasted three centuries. In the case of painting, between 1600 and 1800, the strong influence of old world countries like Spain and Italy resulted in strictly religious themes, with the Catholic church monopolizing artistic production for its temples.
The style which arrived to America with the Spanish was baroque, which mixed with indigenous elements there creating an original and unusual result, manifesting itself most clearly in architecture. Examples of this are the Cathedral of Mexico City, and in Peru, the Cathedral in Cuzco, the Society of Jesus, the University, and the Cathedral in Lima.
In painting and sculpture, religious art was predominant, with the influence of Spanish painters such as Zurbarán y Murillo, whose influence arrived in Mexico through disciples such as Sebastian de Arteaga, José Suarez and Cristobal de Villalpando.
The schools of art in Quito, Lima, and Cuzco were of great importance, producing painters such as Hernando de la Cruz and Manuel de Samaniago.
In New Granada, which today is Colombia, we find Gregorio Vasquez de Arce y Ceballos, who belonged to the "Tenebrist" school, author of Final Judgment, a work which can be found in the church of San Francisco in Bogota.
In Portuguese America (or Brazil) the sculptor Francisco Lisboa, called "Aleijadinho", sculpted in wood a life-size Viacrucis, scenes that represent the Passion of the Christ, and in stone, the Old Testament prophets.

ARTE AMERICAS 2010

Realizada entre el 26 y el 29 de Marzo del presente, en el Miami Beach Convention Center.
De esta Feria se destaca la participación de la Fundación del Arte para la Asistencia Haitiana, “Haitian Art Relief Fund”, dirigida por Edouard Duval-Carrie, cuyo propósito es el de ayudar a los artistas afectados por la devastación del terremoto, quienes muchos de ellos perdieron sus estudios y familias. Duval-Carrie invitó a artistas alrededor del mundo a donar sus obras para ser vendidas en Arte Américas como fue el caso de la artista Tina Cornely, Subdirectora del Miami Art Museum, quien donó y vendió su escultura “Broken Hearts”.
El artista Philippe Dodard, representado por la Galería Marassa de Petion-Ville Haití, con su obra “Antes y Después”, hace un homenaje a las víctimas de la tragedia del terremoto, su tragedia. En su nueva producción de tintas y pinturas, en las que habla sobre la experiencia del “cambio”, después de vivir esta dantesca experiencia, en la que sugiere qué tan frágiles somos y la responsabilidad de todos de lograr de Haití un mejor sitio para vivir.
El Círculo de Artistas de Barcelona, integrado por Pepa Poch, Josep Puigmartí y Miguel Pujol, exhibieron la escultura del excéntrico y famoso artista Salvador Dalí: Su excepcional visión de “Hombre en un Delfín”.
Resalta la Galería Cernuda, la mayor exponente del Arte Cubano en América, con una muestra de Maestros de diferentes períodos, como el paisajista Oscar Fernández Morera, Mario Carreño, obras del famoso Wifredo Lam considerado uno de los artistas más cotizados en el mercado del arte latinoamericano, José María Mijares, el hiperrealista Tomás Sánchez, Ramón Vásquez con su fascinante obra de colores ténues y la artista Flora Fong. El mayor aporte de la Galería Cernuda a la Feria lo hizo publicando el libro a la vida y obra del pintor cubano Carlos Enríquez, “The Painter Of Cuban Ballads”, escrito y presentado en el marco de la Feria por el académico Juan A Martínez.
La Galería Arte Consultores de Bogotá deleitó a los visitantes de la Feria con una muestra de dos excelentes pintores colombianos y sobresalió por su originalidad e innovadora presentación de diseño, color y ambientación musical. El artista Pedro Ruíz enmarca su obra en tres temas: “Love Is In The Air” (“Amor en el Aire”), en el que una pequeña y sutil avioneta sobrevuela un hermoso cultivo de amapolas, con la que se produce la heroina, poniendo en entredicho la decisión política de fumigar con gas estas plantaciones, produciendo un daño ecológico irreparable. En la serie “Displacements” (“Desplazados”), representa la tragedia de la guerra que ha vivido Colombia y en la que un balsero lleva simbólicamente una gigantesca hoja de plátano, dejando atrás su casa, su tierra y su sitio de orígen. Por último, en la serie “Gold” (“Oro”), muestra el espíritu y la naturaleza de un territorio; es la escencia del espíritu colombiano y simbólicamente también representado por un balsero navegando con cientos de mariposas que representan el patrimonio cultural compartido con el resto del mundo.
El artista hiperrealista Hermann Camargo rescata en su obra la imagen de los frutos más tradicionales, algunos de ellos al borde de la extinción. Las dos pinturas expuestas, que representan la “Mandarina”, les da el nombre científico de “Citrus Reticulata”, haciendo referencia a la “Expedición Botánica”.

Federico Uribe Botero y su Arte Vanguardista

Para este joven artista colombiano, la muestra de su obra, expuesta en Miami Art Fair en la primera semana de enero y en Art Palm Beach a mediados del mismo mes, fue la más visitada y admirada por los asistentes de ambas ferias.
Con el nombre de Risk o Riesgo a su exposición, él, como artista conceptual, recurre al lenguaje del Pop Art o Arte Popular, a través del uso de los objetos de la vida cotidiana, pero con una referencia formal a la historia y a la tradición del arte clásico.
Y es que su estilo en sus primeros años, con una tendencia crítica a lo religioso, sensual y tenebroso, ha evolucionado hasta convertirle en un cronista de la modernidad, en una sociedad consumista en la que lo desechable requiere imprescindiblemente del reciclaje.
Uribe Botero utiliza en su trabajo elementos como; lápices, sandalias, suelas, cordones, libros, corchos, discos de acetato, cubiertos plásticos, etc, para elaborar sus cuadros y esculturas reales de animales y seres humanos en contacto con la naturaleza.
El asume el riesgo de enviarnos un mensaje premonitorio, advirtiendo que el hombre debe cambiar sus hábitos destructivos con el planeta y recordándonos que el ser humano, los animales y la naturaleza son uno sólo y habitamos la misma casa.

The Gift From The Artists' Xavier Carbonell And Rosa Serra

XAVIER CARBONELL
Xavier was born in Catalonia, Spain
in 1942, lives and works in the beautiful and artistic city of Olot,
in the heart of Catalonia.
He works in special series of
themes. Four stages mark his artistic trajectory: “Opera and concept “, “ New York “, “ Faces “
and “Olympic Philosophy”.
Woman and Déco
is the title of Xavier Carbonell’s book
by the journalist and writer Márius Carol, and it makes clear that as a painter
he is fascinated by Paris – where he went for the first time in 1974 to work
intensely at the Grande Chaumiere- and one who has professed his love for New York
since his first visit in 1992 –but also for a later discovery, Miami, where he
was captivated by its Art Deco.
Xavier Carbonell complements his attraction to Art Deco with homage to women. The women he paints are contemporary caryatids: tall, sharp-edged, confident, distant, impenetrable. They do not sustain ancient temples, but rather the world of today.
Carol in the book write, the woman Carbonell paints is elegant, sophisticated, seductive- are the heiresses of those far-off heroines of cinema, whose splendor is frozen in celluloid. Standing next to a Rolls, in front of a medallion of Rockefeller Center, or holding an issue of Vogue from 1929, they fit in like pieces of a puzzle. The artist scarcely penetrates the souls of these woman –as if treating them like any other feature of the landscape, just as he does not attempt to enter deeply into the structure of the buildings that look down on them because these giants of steel and concrete acquire their genuine beauty to the extent they form part of a work of art of geographic dimensions.
ROSA SERRA
As a child Rosa Serra moved with her family from Vic, the town where she was born, in 1944, to the small village of Sant Esteve d’en Bas near Olot in the Garrotxa province of Catalonia, Spain.
First attending classes at the studio of the versatile artist Lluís Carbonell and later at the city’s fine arts school. After a brief period of drawing and painting, she began to explore the world of sculpture in the studio of Lluís Curós.
Whenever she can, Rosa Serra expresses the admiration she felt for the sculptor Henry Moore, stating that Moore’s style has left a mark on her own.
Clearly that this artist from Olot has practically devoured Moore’s work, eating and drinking it in, but she has digested in thoroughly and created her own style, without denying the influence of the English sculptor.
The works of Rosa Serra have her personal stamp, a singular style by which we can recognize them in spite of the diversity of her vast output. Just as Moore frequented the museums of París in the 1920s to discover the modernity of the work of Rodin, the classicism of Michelangelo and the cubist innovation of Picasso, Rosa Serra has passed through the work of Moore in the course of a long career that culminates, as did the master’s, in control over mass, space and light.
The book “A Monumental Vision”, by Antoni Garrido, a Journalist and critic of art, is an anthology of Serra’s works, life, passion and style of universal artist. She has a public works around the world.
Her vocation to create public works of art grew very early, with the monument dedicated to Henri Dunant, founder of the Red Cross, the relief of Marconi, her works on Olympic sports can be found in Switzerland, Korea, Kuwait, Japan, Norway, Monaco, Germany, Brasil, Lebanon, Cuba, France, Sweden, Morocco and the headquarters of the United Nations in New York.
