Andres Calderon Sanchez

 

The artist Andrés Calderón Sánchez started his art career as a draftsman in 1991, using pastel techniques.  In 1997 he decided to work with oil and acrylic paint.

 

He was born in Talarrubias, a Province of Badajoz, Spain.  He lives in Madrid, where he has his studio and works in the workshops of the Circle of Fine Arts of Madrid.  His style is a mix of figurative expresionism and abstract geometries.  He has an inclination for the traditional and primitive art, and his subject matter are nature, vital values, and humanity.

 

During the course of his artistic career he has achieved individual expositions in the Concha Márquez Foundation (Madrid), the Railroad Museum (Madrid), and in The Mario Café (Bilbao).  He has also participated in a few collective art expositions; Fair-Market of Artists (at the "Ave de Atocha" Station in Madrid), Fair of Paint & Design at the Catalán Circle (Madrid), halls of Expoarte and The Cervantina Society, in Madrid.

 

His artwork has been selected in the Fifth National Contest in the Aranjuez Ville and in the LIX National Exposition of Art "José Camarón" in Segorbe (Castellón, in 2002).
